The Springtown Lady Pines' softball season came to an end in the bidistrict round of the Class 4A playoffs as they fell in a best-of-3 series to District 7-4A champion Sanger, 7-2 in Springtown and 10-4 in Sanger on April 25 and 26.
In a yeoman effort, pitcher Kylee Spray of Springtown struck out 12 batters in the opening game. Cheyanne Atchley had 2 of the team's 3 hits, including a double, with an RBI.
In Game 2, the Lady Pines were undone by 9 errors, which resulted in no earned runs for Sanger. For Springtown offensively, Haylee Sanborn and Madison Terrell each had a base hit.
Springtown ended the season with a 14-15-1 record and was fourth in District 8-4A with a 5-5 record. It's the fourth consecutive season in which the Lady Pines have reached the playoffs.
