Ann Henley, of Azle, died Oct. 18, 2024, at the age of 83.
Services are under the direction of Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home of Burleson. A private graveside service will be held in Commerce, Oct. 31. A public memorial will be in Azle Nov. 26 at 10 a.m. The location will be announced later.
Ann was born in Commerce April 17, 1941. She married John David Henley in 1967. They divorced in 1993. Ann was very active in multiple churches and in politics. She was ordained as a minister in the International Full Gospel Evangelistic Association. In 2024 she ran for a seat in the House of Representatives in the Republican Primary. Her hobbies, other than religion and politics, consisted primarily of raising goats and caring for her other animals.
She is survived by her two children and their spouses: Matthew Henley and John Branch of Spring, and Christi Henley McIntire and Kurt McIntire of Crowley. She is also survived by Thomas Jobe, grandson, and his wife Sydney, of Lufkin; Justin Sweet, grandson, also of Azle; and one great-grandson, Austin Jobe, of Lufkin.
