Kenneth Max Lawson 1956 — 2025

Posted

Kenneth Max Lawson passed away peacefully after a decades-long battle with chronic illness, finding rest in the arms of the Lord. He was born in Lubbock to Donald “Don” Lawson and Emma “Sue” Lawson and spent much of his childhood in Springtown. Max graduated from Crosbyton High School in 1975.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 25, at Indian Oaks Primitive Baptist Church in Lake Worth.

A private man with many hidden talents, Max was a skilled machinist who took pride in his craft. He also possessed a beautiful tenor voice that brought joy to those fortunate enough to hear him sing. Max found happiness in life's simple pleasures — he enjoyed football, fishing and camping in the mountains, where he felt at peace surrounded by nature. He shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Bob, whose companionship brought him great comfort.

Max was preceded in death by his wife, Bennie, and his father, Don.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Sue; his son Joe Wear and wife Tanya; his daughter Brandy Ince and husband Josh; and his sisters Pam Keegans, Gale Scarborough and husband Reg, and Susie Schneider and husband Tom. Max's legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Kylie, Kinley, Brody, Ellee, Khloe and Harper. He will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
